I developed a partnership between the San Francisco Planning Department and the Chinatown Community Development Center to support the cultural preservation and environmental sustainability of San Francisco's Chinatown. As Senior Planner and Steering Committee Member, I worked with non-profit, philanthropic and City agency partners to conduct analyses and identify strategies to address the long-term resilience of Chinatown's culture and people in the face of gentrification and climate change. The Strategies for a Sustainable Chinatown document includes various actions to maintain housing affordability, sustain Chinatown’s unique culture and improve environmental health and performance. The project was recognized with a National Planning Award by the American Planning Association.
