The artist David Best is famous for the ornate temples he builds from recycled wood sheets at the annual Burning Man Festival. The Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) commissioned David to create a temple as part of a Burning Man themed art exhibition at the museum. In the Fall of 2019, I assisted the Temple Crew in constructing the "Temple of Reunion." The structure provided a sacred space for people to reflect on loss, separation and reunion with loved ones.
